In collaboration with design studio I+A, we set out to reimagine what a lounge chair could be. Tactile, transparent, and made with purpose. An Object of Desire.
The result is a design and product that looks fast & sleek; a design that looks at home in the 1980s, and the 2050s.
The CLEAR/FORM Lounge Chair merges fluid design with advanced 3D printing, using recycled plastic to craft a form that’s as sustainable as it is sculptural. Its flowing geometry invites interaction, while its clarity reflects the innovative spirit behind circular design.
At Invent 3D, we see collaboration as the foundation of innovation. Partnering with I+A allowed us to bridge the gap between artistic vision and engineering precision, proving that sustainability and style can — and should — coexist.
This is more than furniture. It’s a glimpse into the future of design for sustainability, where creativity and technology shape how we live, sit, and think.
This was made out of 100% recycled PETG, using the Invent 3D print farm. In the coming months, we would be using the new ELM Fabrication 3D Printer, making these concepts and products out of any reground plastic.
The chair is surprisingly light at just over 8kg – but can withstand over 150kg of weight thanks to the smart application of infill patterns.
This is the first of many projects in this artistic sector.
